Mini Appaloosa

Equus caballus

Miniature horses were kept and bred at many royal courts in centuries past—as playmates for the children. With the decline of monarchies, these small horses also nearly disappeared. Starting in the United States, where breeding had been actively pursued since the 1960s, the animals made their way back to Europe a few years later. The best-known miniature breeds are the Mini Shetland Pony, the American Miniature Horse, and the Falabella.
