Red Panda Day

On September 19 & 20, everything at the “ Tierwelt Herberstein ” will revolve around a very special resident: the red panda. To celebrate International Red Panda Day on September 19, the “Tierwelt” invites you to a weekend full of fun activities centered on these little climbing experts. Right next to the red panda enclosure, exciting insights, informative activities, and plenty of animal highlights await visitors of all ages.

A Charly rarely comes alone

A dual-purpose inaugural visit: Karlheinz “Charly” Kornhäusl, State Councilor for Culture, paid an inaugural visit to the “ Tierwelt Herberstein .” At the same time, Charly the Carpathian lynx—a new animal arrival—was welcomed to the popular tourist destination.

Animal Welfare Takes Hold in Schools

A two-semester course offered by “Tierschutz macht Schule” in cooperation with the Styrian University of Education and the State of Styria! Registration is open until September 21, 2026!

House of Biodiversity

Even after the STEIERMARK SCHAU has ended, you can still explore the newly opened “House of Biodiversity,” which features many hands-on stations dedicated to biodiversity.
