The Region

As the name suggests, the region is home to apples and the lake!

Stubenberg Lake, located just a 5-minute drive from Tierwelt, attracts many swimmers in the summer. Thanks to the adjacent amusement park, visitors can enjoy not only swimming but also a variety of other recreational activities, such as mini-golf, go-karting, or jumping on a trampoline.

In the spring and fall, you can ride a bike or skateboard around the lake, or simply take a walk. At the amusement park, you can rent tandem bikes. But even in the winter, the lake is a great place to take a walk.

The region around Puch bei Weiz, in particular, is known as an apple-growing region. This is also home to the “Abakus men,” who, in the area around Kulm, devote themselves to processing apples according to specific rules. Abakus is an apple schnapps distilled by 15 apple farmers.
