Woof—Dogs Welcome

We have recently received—and especially in the last few days—numerous messages via email, on social media, and in person on-site, requesting that we introduce a mandatory muzzle requirement, specifically for so-called “list dogs.” The issue is polarizing—in both directions. We consciously distance ourselves from prejudgment of any kind and, as a dog-friendly destination, refuse to be pigeonholed.

The Herberstein Wildlife Park is a place where everyone—young and old, big and small —as well as our four-legged friends can come together. The well-being of the animals entrusted to our care is just as important to us as the well-being of ALL our visitors.

It is up to each individual dog owner to decide whether or not to use a muzzle during a visit to the animal park. Each dog owner is personally responsible, and it is up to each owner to decide how to proceed. There is NO requirement to use a muzzle; we simply recommend that you consider this issue before visiting the animal park. This applies to all dog breeds.

Furthermore, all dogs must be kept on a short leash. In this regard, we expressly ask that you familiarize yourself with the visitor guidelines.
