Hardy Tree Dwellers

At first glance, one might confuse the pine marten with the much more commonly seen stone marten. The most distinctive feature that sets it apart from the stone marten is the yellow, rounded throat patch. It also has longer legs than the stone marten, and its nose is black.

Did you know?

Unlike the stone marten, the pine marten is not a synanthropic species. Its territory consists of undisturbed, extensive forested areas.
