A long winter is over, and the animal kingdom is also looking forward to the warm season. Especially in the spring, the zoo’s animal population grows almost daily: there have already been new arrivals among the goats, rabbits, and sheep in the petting zoo. There will soon be new arrivals among the bison and tapirs as well. “Especially with wild animals, it’s hard to predict exactly when they’ll give birth. One thing is certain: bison calves will be born in mid-April! Family planning is going just as smoothly with our prairie dogs,” predicts Doris Wolkner-Steinberger, head of the animal kingdom.
