At 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. each day, Tierwelt Herberstein transforms into a runway—a playground of cultures. Traditional fashion shows featuring Styrian folk costumes and traditional African attire alternate with musical and dance performances. African and Styrian wines, as well as culinary specialties, are also available.
Managing Director Doris Wolkner-Steinberger explains: “The entire season is already themed‘The Jewels of Africa.’ Many workshops and an Africa Festival have so far brought African culture closer to visitors. Now, Styrian culture is being connected to it.”
Culture at Tierwelt?
At Tierwelt Herberstein, the animals are, of course, the main attraction. They are what visitors come to see. In addition to the animals, however, the park also aims to offer small glimpses into the different continents, cultures, histories, and traditions. This allows visitors to experience more, immersing themselves in both unfamiliar and familiar worlds—the animals’ natural habitats. This marks another milestone under Herberstein Wildlife Park’s motto:“Discover the world—you are a part of it.”
