Herberstein Wildlife Park on Track: 100,000 Visitors

Despite being closed for a total of two months due to the coronavirus, Herberstein Wildlife Park is on track. Together with State Representative Hubert Lang, State Zoo Director Doris Wolkner-Steinberger welcomed the 100,000th visitor of the current tourist season today.

Last year, when a new visitor record of over 237,000 people was set, the 100,000th guest was honored on June 24, 2019. In what is known as the “Corona year,” this milestone was reached just three days later.

The birth of the lion cubs sparked a surge in visitors during the winter season. By the end of February 2020, more than 35,000 people had visited the East Styrian attraction. “During the lockdown, we focused intensively on brand promotion across all segments, with a particular emphasis on online marketing,” says Tierwelt director Doris Wolkner-Steinberger, pleased with the successful marketing efforts surrounding the smooth reopening.
This positive interim report allows for an optimistic outlook toward the summer vacation season, especially as more tourists spend their vacations in the region and a trip to Herberstein is a must. The booking situation in the Apfelland-Stubenberg See area looks promising.

Öffnungszeiten: täglich von 9 bis 17 Uhr
