The family of four from Graz, celebrating their anniversary, was visibly proud when they were greeted with a bouquet of flowers and a family annual pass during their Sunday outing.

The visitor numbers for the first half of 2016 are a testament to the dedication of the staff and demonstrate once again that wildlife is a major tourist draw in the region,” said Provincial Councilor Buchmann.
The Styrian State Zoo ( Tierwelt Herberstein ) kicked off its anniversary year—marking 10 years of the Styrian State Zoo—with very encouraging visitor growth in the first few months. Never before has the magical 100,000-visitor mark been reached as early as June. A packed calendar of events and a wide variety of activities are drawing visitors to Eastern Styria.
With this positive interim report, the Styrian State Zoo ( Tierwelt Herberstein ) is aiming for the highest visitor count in its history. The goal is to surpass the record set in 2014, when 208,493 visitors were recorded.
