Herberstein Wildlife Park: The first 100,000th visitor of the year!

On Sunday, June 26, 2016, the 100,000th visitor of the current season—the Gerencser family—was welcomed to Tierwelt Herberstein by State Councilor for Economic Affairs Dr. Christian Buchmann and Managing Director Doris Wolkner-Steinberger.

The family of four from Graz, celebrating their anniversary, was visibly proud when they were greeted with a bouquet of flowers and a family annual pass during their Sunday outing.
“I congratulate Doris Wolkner-Steinberger and her team on the successful development of Tierwelt Herberstein over the past few years. The visitor numbers for the first half of 2016 are a testament to the dedication of the staff and demonstrate once again that Tierwelt Herberstein is a major tourist attraction in the region,” said Provincial Councilor Buchmann.
Tierwelt Herberstein kicked off its anniversary year—marking 10 years as the Styrian State Zoo—with very encouraging visitor numbers in the first few months. Never before has the magical 100,000-visitor mark been reached as early as June. A packed calendar of events and a wide variety of activities are drawing visitors to Eastern Styria.
With these positive interim results, Tierwelt Herberstein is aiming for its best visitor numbers in history. The goal is to surpass the record set in 2014, when 208,493 visitors came through the gates.
